Leeds Domestic Violence Service’ IDVA Team Achieves Leading Light Accreditation

Leeds Domestic Violence Service has achieved the Leading Lights accreditation for LDVS‘ (Leeds Domestic Violence Service) IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate) service.

Leading Lights is a SafeLives accreditation programme recognising rewards good and safe practice in community based domestic abuse services across the UK. This mark of quality ensures that victim-survivors of domestic violence receive a consistent level of service, regardless of where they are.

Chief Executive of Leeds Women’s Aid, which delivers LDVS’ IDVA service, Nik Peasgood, said:

“We are delighted to be awarded the Leading Lights accreditation, recognising our IDVA team’s commitment to good practice and dedication to putting clients’ safety first.

“It’s been hard work but such an amazing achievement. Our teams, from our strong leaders and frontline IDVAs to our monitoring and impact teams, have driven this accomplishment with passion and commitment, and we are very proud to achieve this gold standard.”

The IDVA service supports victim-survivors navigate the complex criminal justice system. IDVA workers offer safety advice and help victim-survivors to make informed decisions. The team also works closely with high-risk survivors to implement practical and legal remedies to reduce the risks they face.
