This month, former Detective Superintendent and Strategic Lead for Violence Against Women & Girls at West Yorkshire Police, Vanessa Rolfe joins the Leeds Women’s Aid Board as Safeguarding Lead Trustee.
Vanessa retired last month after 30 years as a Police Officer, and is now working in safeguarding and Domestic Homicide Reviews. Her role as Safeguarding Lead Trustee at Leeds Women’s Aid will involve overseeing safeguarding and child protection procedures, offering expert advice and helping to shape our policies and procedures.
Chief Executive of Leeds Women’s Aid, Nik Peasgood, said: “We are delighted that Vanessa is becoming the Leeds Women’s Aid Safeguarding Lead Trustee. Vanessa is very respected and established in her area of work, and her expertise and commitment to safeguarding women and girls will be a huge addition to our team. We are looking forward to gaining invaluable knowledge from Vanessa and further strengthening our links with West Yorkshire Police to improve outcomes for victim-survivors.”
Vanessa Rolfe, said: “I feel very humbled and privileged to work with and be a representative of Leeds Women’s Aid. It is an amazing charity and what a fantastic opportunity to continue to share my passion with other like-minded people to help reduce violence against women and girls.”
