Refuge Out of Hours Worker (*Female)

Please note that this is a temporary position currently funded until March 2026. We are optimistic about the potential for an extension, subject to future funding, and remain fully supportive of maintaining this role beyond the current term.

Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, trafficking, stalking and harassment and is the lead agency for two consortia, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women’s Lives Leeds.
We are looking for an empowering and supportive Refuge Out of Hours worker to join our team. The Out-of-hours Team are the first point of contact for, and access to LDVS for any person experiencing domestic violence and abuse. We work with victim-survivors providing a 24-hour helpline service and specialist guidance to our residents residing at our refuge accommodation.
You will need:
- A good understanding of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on victim survivors, children and their families.
- Experience of telephone based and/or customer service advice or support work.
- The ability to work under pressure in stressful or difficult situations.
- Great listening skills
- Able to work within an operational multi agency environment
