What inspired you to take on the half marathon for Leeds Women’s Aid?

I started casually running a couple of years ago, doing local park runs in Leeds and I quickly discovered a love for it! I gradually started running further, taking part in the 10k Abbey Dash in October last year, and so I decided to take on an even bigger challenge of the half marathon. I wanted fundraise for a local charity helping vulnerable people, so Leeds Women’s Aid was my go-to. I see the great work the charity does and I’m proud that the donations I’ve raised can contribute to supporting women and girls in Leeds.

How has your training been going? Any highlights or challenges?

My training has been going well as I’m completing it with a friend, so that helps with motivation and being held accountable! So far, I’m quite enjoying it and looking forward to completing the real thing on the day!

How can people support you?

I started off with a £250 target and was blown away by the support from my friends and family, so I raised the target up to £500 and I’m so happy to have nearly reached that too! You can help me reach my target by making an online donation at: https://localgiving.org/fundraising/LK4LWA

Good luck to Laura from everyone at Leeds Women’s Aid!
