Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

£30,953 (FTE) p.a.
Full-time (35 hours, Monday – Friday)

We are looking for a Senior Complex Needs IDVA* to join our team. When individuals and families experience domestic violence and abuse they can feel frightened & isolated and unsure of options available to keep themselves safe. For those with additional or complex needs it can prevent access to the support and services they need.

The Complex Needs IDVA provides and improves support to the most vulnerable and high-risk victim-survivors of domestic abuse with complex needs, helping to break down barriers for that individual whilst working to improve the processes and pathways for future service users.

You will need:

• Experience in engaging with, assessing and supporting vulnerable people with complex needs. 
• Experience of developing, influencing and encouraging partnership working. 
•  Excellent crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations. 
• A thorough understanding of IDVA work.

Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, stalking and harassment and is the lead agency for two consortia, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women and Girls Alliance.
